TB and People Who Use Drugs - A Call to Action
In line with the Memorandum of Understanding, signed between INPUD, International Network of People who Use Drugs, and TBPEOPLE, the global network of people affected by tuberculosis (TB), the two networks committed to “collaborate on raising the profile of the problem of TB among people who use drugs including the impact of prohibition and systematic discrimination of people who use drug to regard to the promotion of integrated people-centered services for people who use drugs and are affected by TB”. As a first step, the two networks developed a joint position paper on TB among people who use drugs, which will lay the foundation for future advocacy and programs.

Declaration of the Rights of People Affected by TB
Declaration of the Rights of People Affected by TB was developed by TBpeople Global with the support from the Stop TB Partnership and USAID through a participatory process, which involved numerous regional and global consultations and was supported by leading human rights lawyers Brian Citro, Allan Maleche and Timur Abdullaev.
TB and You
“TB and You” is a brochure written by and for people with TB. Its goal is to explain in an easy way what the TB diagnosis means and to debunk the many myths surrounding the disease. The fact that the brochure was written by people who have already beaten TB, makes it particularly useful for those who just faced the diagnosis and need both information and moral support. First developed in Russian, the brochure was later translated into English and eleven languages of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Meaningful Engagement of the Communities of People Affected By TB
TBpeople with financial support of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria conducted a study on engagement of the communities of people affected by TB in the processes of national strategic plan development as an indicator of broader community engagement in national decision- and policy-making processes. The study revealed some of the challenges and barriers faced by community organizations, and came up with a set of recommendations, which are expected to help improve the situation with community engagement.
Global Plan To End TB 2023-2030
The Global Plan to End TB, 2023-2030 is a plan for ending TB as a public health challenge by 2030. It provides a blueprint of priority actions required and a detailed estimate of financial resources needed to end TB. This Global Plan builds on the previous edition, which laid out priority actions for 2018-2022, informed by global commitments member states endorsed at the 2018 United Nations High-Level Meeting (UNHLM) on TB. The resource needs estimates from this Global Plan include resources needed for implementing TB care and prevention and R&D into new tools. This Global Plan has already informed the Global Fund Investment Case and the 2022 G20 deliberations on TB. It will serve as a key document for inspiring and aligning global advocacy efforts, such as for the upcoming UNHLM on TB in 2023.

Global tuberculosis report 2021
Each year, the WHO Global TB Report provides a comprehensive and up-to-date assessment of the TB epidemic, and of progress in prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the disease, at global, regional and country levels. This is done in the context of global TB commitments, strategies and targets.

Political declaration of the High-Level Meeting of the General Assembly on the Fight Against Tuberculosis : resolution / adopted by the General Assembly
On 26 September, 2018, the first ever UN General Assembly High-Level Meeting on Tuberculosis assembled in New York. The meeting resulted in the adoption of a Political Declaration on Tuberculosis, which reaffirmed commitment to end the tuberculosis epidemic globally by 2030 and included ambitious and bold targets for scale-up of tuberculosis care and prevention services, as well as commitments on research for new tools, principles of equity and human rights, and resource needs targets for both implementation and research.
The impact of COVID-19 on the TB epidemic: A community perspective
Tuberculosis (TB) is the world's leading infectious disease killing around 1.5 million people each year. In response to early warnings of COVID-19 having devastating impacts on people affected by TB and TB programs around the world, 10 diverse global networks quickly came together to take action. A survey collecting voices from the ground affected by TB was launched on May 26, 2020. Separate questions and findings were collected for people with TB, frontline healthcare workers, program and policy officers, TB researchers, and TB advocates. Findings present lived experiences, lessons learned, advocacy recommendations, and opportunities for mitigating the damage done by COVID-19 to get countries back on track to achieving elimination targets, as well as building back better to end TB.
