The Moment to Invest in TB Communities!

More than 70 organizations and 11,000 individuals worldwide have formally addressed the Global Fund Board.
Ahead of the upcoming Board meeting, people affected by tuberculosis, together with national, regional, and global partners, have submitted a joint appeal to the leadership of the Global Fund.
Our message is clear and grounded in lived experience:
Grant Cycle 8 (GC8) must include sustained and direct funding for TB-affected communities.
At a time when the world is facing one of the most significant crises in global health, the decisions taken now shape the trajectory of the TB response for years to come.
For TB communities, this is a pivotal moment to correct longstanding inequities in access to resources at country level and to strengthen efforts to end preventable deaths from a curable disease.
📌 In our appeal, we call for:
the establishment of a clearly defined and protected funding envelope for TB-affected communities;
access to funding beyond standard CCM-led structures, through simplified and community-adapted mechanisms;
proportionate reporting and fiduciary requirements aligned with the operational realities of grassroots and community-based organizations.
We also highlight the Challenge Facility for Civil Society (CFCS) as a proven and ready-to-scale mechanism. For nearly two decades, CFCS has strengthen national TB community networks, enhanced program performance, and ensured that community voices translate into measurable impact.
TBPeople, a global network uniting country chapters across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas, works to connect lived experience with national and global TB processes through coordination, capacity strengthening, and structured community feedback.
This appeal is more than a letter.
It is the collective voice of people working every day to prevent TB-related suffering and deaths.
The decisions taken now can become a turning point for the future of the global TB response.
We thank all partner organizations who stand in solidarity with TB-affected communities and with a more equitable and effective fight to end TB.
